Lippuner said the Coalition is a partnership about working together between business and government and making St. Kitts and Nevis a safer place to live and work.
He said CSSKNSI was established to drive effective advocacy, change and progress in the areas of safety and security in St. Kitts and Nevis through one voice representing several organizations on the island.
“The initiatives of the CSSKNSI are to provide funding and support to establish an acceptable level of safety and security throughout the Federation; create an environment conducive to the success of its represented businesses; and to significantly improve the effectiveness of government provided policing to curb the level of crime and violence negatively impacting our society,” he said.
The donation was said to be the second public gift in support of the police and additionally, the Coalition will be supporting an upcoming training session, scheduled for early 2012, for the police by providing hotel accommodation for two police trainers and airfare for two police trainers.
The Commissioner of Police (COP) said that the donations are appreciated and will be used to fight crime in the Federation and will be treated with respect and come next year all the equipment will be accounted for.
He said that the gesture is a display of cooperation and community support for a planned initiative, geared towards taking back the streets from those who choose to pursue a life of crime.
“The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force will continue to do the same great job we have started, to take back the streets from those who are bent on living a lie, contrary to that which is normal or what is accepted in this Federation.
“I am appreciative that you chose to invest in our community, so that I can continue to know in my heart that my family and all of our families can walk along the streets without fear, knowing the police are doing a good job,” said the COP.
