~~Adz:Left~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE emission of smoke from the building that houses American Bakery, also known as ‘Amory Bakery’, was enough of a red flag to prompt workers at a nearby business to summon help from the Fire and Rescue Services.

SKNVibes understands that sometime after 9:00 last evening, workers at the Star of India observed smoke emitting from the American Bakery and contacted one of the owners of the business as well as the Fire Department.

A unit from the St. Kitts Nevis Fire and Rescue Services responded to the call and within minutes arrived at the Victoria Road building ready and able to quell whatever fiery fury they would have met.

SKNVibes understands that the fire team was successful in gaining access to the building after which they learnt that an oven was left on by an employee, which caused the appliance to overheat and emit smoke.
According to reports, no damage was done to the building or the appliance.

Speaking with SKNVibes, Fire Station Officer [FSO (Stn)] Everette O’Garro advised “people to pay attention and be more careful when they are operating this type of equipment”.
