18,000 cruise passengers visit St. Kitts for first four days of this week, 23,000 next week

BASSETERRE St. Kitts, Novemebr 24th 2011 (CUOPM) – The 8 cruise ships that visited St. Kitts’ Port Zante for the first four days of this week, brought over 18,000 passengers.
 
On Wednesday, 5,615 passengers were onboard the two ships in port, while on Tuesday, there were 7,382 cruise passengers on the three ships that docked. 3,176 passengers were on the two ships on Monday and 2,352 passengers on the lone ship on Sunday.
 
Two cruise liners – the 2,680-passenger capacity Carnival Miracle, brought 2,496 passengers, while 3,119 were on board the 2,850-passenger capacity Celebrity Eclipse on Wednesday.
 
The 2,540-passenger capacity Serenade of the Seas brought 2,418 passengers; the 3,100 passenger capacity Emerald Princess had on board 3,110 passengers and the 2,281-passenger capacity Mein Schiff brought 1,854-passengers – a total of 7,382 on Tuesday.
 
On Monday, the 2,450-passenger Celebrity Summit arrived with 2,282 passengers on board and crew of 917, while the 821-passenger capacity Braemar docked with 894 passengers and a crew of 370. Most of the 3,176 passengers on that day also came ashore and went sightseeing, hiking, sailing, snorkeling, sun and sea bathing or shopping.
 
The first ship to visit this week was the 2,224-passenger capacity Norwegian Dawn on Sunday with 2,352 passengers.
 
No ships are scheduled for Thursday 24th, but the 3,050-passenger Carnival Victory and the 3,114-passenger Adventure of the Seas are due to visit on Friday; and the 540-passenger Silver Spirit on Saturday, bringing the number of ships for this week to 11 with an estimated 25,000 passengers.
 
Ten ships are scheduled to visit St. Kitts next week with an estimated 23,000 passengers. They are the 450-passenger Seabourne Quest and the 3,840-passenger Explorer of the Seas on Sunday, the 3,100-passenger Ventura on Monday; the 3,114-passnger Adventure of the Seas on Tuesday; the 255-passenger Royal Clipper and the 3,840-passenger Navigator of the Seas on Wednesday; the 2,224 passenger Norwegian Dawn and the 180-passenger Star Clipper on Thursday; the 3,050-passenger Carnival Victory on Friday and the 3,597-passenger Azura on Saturday.
 
Over 625,000 cruise passengers are expected to visit during the 2011/2012 cruise ship season.
