At its annual staff party, Cable & Wireless honoured several of its staff who have excelled in different areas during the year.
Taking the top prize awarded by the Chairman was Mr. Curtis Martin. He was recognized for his recent promotion to the post of Vice President Human Resources, having come through the ranks of the organization as a former Cable & Wireless scholar.
The Chief Executive Award went to Lynne Lanns, while the Manager of the Year Award was conferred upon Earla Allen.
Pat Walters, Chief Executive said that she is pleased that the company can show its appreciation to staff in this manner. This is a most appropriate time to acknowledge the efforts of staff who have worked consistently well throughout the year. We have been through a number of challenges this year, and it has taken the combined resolve of staff to take us past them. That we have taken the time to reward outstanding performance can only serve as a moral booster to all of us.
Staff who excelled in their respective departments were also on the receiving end of awards in either cash or kind.
Two new Awards were also added to the list this year to acknowledge the contributions of Bjorn Bassue and Cari Nicholas. Both of the Mobile Department, they volunteered their service in Grenada to assist the sister Business Unit in the recovery work after the passage of Hurricane Ivan. The award was appropriately called the Hero and Heroine award.
