Tazia Williams
Press Release

BASSETERRE St. Kitts, November 30th 2011 - Here is another week of promotion with some more of our dancers as we continue to invite the public to our Christmas Recital on Friday 9th December 2011 at the ECCB, 7pm.

Below are the bio of some of the dancers and why Christmas is important to them:

    1. Tazia Williams is a 4 year old, enthusiastic dancer. She recently joined the Youth Outreach Dance Ministry in October of 2011. Tazia enjoys dancing and when asked about her favourite dance move she says, "I Love going on my toes". She displays great potential and her aspiration is to become a famous ballerina. Tazia would like to take this opportunity to invite the general public to her first dance recital on December 9,2011.

She also extends a Merry Christmas to all  and she says she hopes you enjoy all of your presents for Christmas.

    2.  My name is Tawana Rawlins.  I am 15 years old.  I attend the Washington Archibald High School.  Being a member of the Youth Outreach Dance Ministry has taught me so much about my inner being and it has allowed me to build self confident and discipline.  I am excited about our Christmas recital which will be held at the ECCB Auditorium on Friday 9th December, 7pm, so I am inviting you to see us perform in a different style and atmosphere.

Christmas is important to me because of the many gifts I received from families and friends, and to learn so much about the birth of Jesus.

    3.    Name: Tarhia Slack
    Age: 8
    School: Dr. William Connor Primary
                School
    Church: Zion Moravian Church

Christmas is a time to worship The Lord on His birthday. It is also a time where parents award children for being good throughout the year with presents.

I was always dancing and I started my dance training in Maryland U.S.A. The Dance Ministry gave me the chance to continue my dancing. Dancing makes me happy and that is the most enjoyable part of the Pre Christmas Musical Ensemble. I am just looking forward to having fun, enjoying myself while showing the audience that I can dance!

    4.  Name: Takoya Slack
    Age: 13
    School: Basseterre High School
    Church: Zion Moravian Church

Christmas is that special time of the year where families come together whether near or far to spend time with each other. It also includes the receiving and exchanging gifts to express one's love.

Performing has always played a major role within my early childhood. I loved to perform and as a young child I was either singing, dancing or making up my own composition on the piano. Now as a young teen the Dance Ministry has provided me with the necessary training to fulfill my dream.

As an up and coming professional dancer I am looking forward to sharing my God giving talents with the audience.  The Pre Christmas Musical Ensemble will also undoubtedly award me the opportunity to share the stage with other burgeoning talented youths such as myself.

    5.  Name: Sheyjona Bass
    Age: 15
    School: Basseterre High School
I think Christmas is important because it is a time when we celebrate the birth of Jesus and a time to socialize with different family members.

I enjoy coming to dance class to display my God-giving talent, tutoring the students and being able to socialize and meet friends. I also enjoy going different places to perform with others and occasionally myself.

I look forward to seeing all the different students come together and perform on stage after all their hard work.

    6.  Name: Sonrisa Watts
    Age: 10

I’m Sonrisa. It means ‘smile’ in Spanish. I smile a lot, especially since people state that I have a sense of humor. Though I make jokes a lot and love to spend time with my family friends, I really like to dance and sing.

I like Christmas not only because of the Christmas parties and meals, togetherness and gifts, but because of everything that happens around me.

It doesn’t snow, obviously, here in St. Kitts but we don’t need snow for it to feel like Christmas. Just singing Christmas songs, putting decorations on the Christmas tree, going caroling and feeling the cold Christmas breeze on your face makes everyone believe that it’s Christmas.

Everything about Christmas fascinates me and that’s why I’m proud to say, it’s my favorite time of the year.

Frankly, the reason I love Youth Outreach Dance Ministry is because of the songs. Ms. Caines picks a series of wonderful, toe-tapping, head-swinging songs. And just near Christmas! My favorite dance for the concert would probably be the Finale. The song, also, would make you want to dance.

    7.  My name is Robin Warner, I am nine years old, I attend the Seventh day Adventist Primary School and I live in Sandy Point.   I like Christmas because I get to spend more time with friends and family and we get lots of gifts and that is what I like about Christmas. I enjoy dancing and performing for the people.

    8. Name : Tychira Brown
    Age : 9 years old
School : Maurice Hillier Memorial Junior School
Church Affiliated : Youth Fellowship Of Old Road

Why Christmas is important: Christmas is important because it was the day when Jesus Christ was born.

What do you enjoy most : I enjoy most when baby Jesus was born.

    9. My name is Arianna Stanley. I am nine years old. The church that I attend is the Saddlers Pentecostal church of God. The school that I attend is Immaculate Conception Catholic School.Christmas is important to me because it's a time when my family and I spend time together and share out gifts
