BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – JUST hours after the shooting-death of 32-year-old Charles Benjamin Matthew, also known as Abaloo, the twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis recorded its eighth homicide.
Dead is 26-year-old Tau Gowon of Delicle Gardens, who was stabbed in the region of his chest at about 8 o’clock last night [Friday] at the junction of Central and Market Streets.
Reports reaching SKNVibes indicate that Gowon had an altercation with an unidentified male, which resulted in him being stabbed.
When this media house arrived on the scene, a large crowd had surrounded the motionless body of Gowon lying on its back on the roadway with a stab wound to the chest. However, on arrival of the police the area was secured and restricted as officers conducted investigations.
The District medical Officer was also present at the crime scene and pronounced him dead. SKNVibes was unable to make contact with the dead man’s relatives or anyone close to him last night.~~Adz:Right~~
Speaking with this media house, Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Cromwell Henry said an autopsy would be performed to determine the cause of death.
He also stated that the Force is appealing to persons with information in connection with the two homicides to call the Criminal Investigation Department at 465-2241, extension 236, 230 or 220, or the crime hotline at 77.
“All information received,” he added, “will be treated with strict confidence.”
