Nevis businessman shot during robbery

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – A businessman in Nevis is currently hospitalised after being shot and robbed on Friday night (Dec. 2) by three masked bandits in the vicinity of his home.

     

    This publication learned that the injured man is an employee of Four Seasons and a part-time vendor named Brian Claxton of Hamilton Estate, Nevis.
     
    According to information reaching SKNVibes, Claxton, who, along with his wife, usually sells barbeque and beverages in the vicinity of Zone 1 Auto in Hamilton Estate.

     

    The couple had closed shop for the night and had headed for their home.
     

     

    However, on reaching there at about 10:45, three masked, armed individuals dressed in dark clothing emerged from their hiding place at the Claxton’s residence and demanded money from them.

     

    This media house was unable to confirm how much money was taken from the couple, but learned that Claxton did not want to part with his hard-earned cash and was pistol-whipped to the head and shot in one of his legs.

     

    He was shortly after transported to the Alexandra Hospital where he is a patient.

     

    The three bandits made good their escape in Claxton's vehicle which was parked outside his residence.

     

    Police are investigating.
