CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – LESS than 26 hours after Brian Claxton was shot in Hamilton Estate, another businessman suffered a similar fate.

According to the Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Sergeant, Stephen Hector, Lester Seabrookes of Jessups Village, Nevis was shot on Saturday night (Dec. 3) during an attempted robbery.

“At about 00:15 hours on Sunday, December 4, 2011, a report was received alleging that Lester Seabrookes of Jessups Village was shot during an attempted robbery.

“Seabrookes was found lying on the ground with gunshot wound to his right leg at his residence and was transported to the Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Investigations into this incident are ongoing,” Hector said.

SKNVibes learned that Seabrookes, who owns a business entity in Cotton Ground, had closed the premises for the night and left for his Jessups Village home.

As the businessman exited his vehicle on arrival home, he was greeted by an armed assailant who demanded that he hand over his money. And for some unknown reason, the assailant left without receiving a dime but not before shooting Seabrookes in his leg.
