BASSETERRE, St. Kitts: A Sandy Point man was temporarily displaced when the house which he occupied was totally destroyed by fire.
Sometime between 7:00 and 7:30 last evening the Sandy Point branch of Fire and Rescue Services was informed that a house at Bouncing Hill, Sandy Point was on fire.
They arrived on the scene to meet a two-bedroom wooden structure engulfed in flames and although they worked speedily to extinguish the blaze, it was not enough to save the dwelling from total destruction.
SKNVibes.com understands that the house is owned by Mary Mills who resides overseas but was occupied by ‘Chassy’ Douglas.
Attempts to establish the possible cause(s) of the fire were unsuccessful as the Fire Department said they were at the stage of conducting investigations.
This fire is the second to have occurred in the Sandy Point area over a four day period. Fortunately there were no reported injuries in either incident.
