Police Service has six new officers

    BRADES, Montserrat, December 6th, 2011 – The Royal Montserrat Police Service has been expanded with the addition of six locally trained recruits.

     

    Last Friday, December 2, the Passing Out ceremony for the new officers was held at the Montserrat Cultural Centre with family, friends and fellow officers were in attendance to welcome them to the local force.

     

    This is the third group of recruits that have been trained on island by a cadre of active and retired police officers lead by Deputy Commissioner Paul Morris, Superintendent Charles Thompson and Chief Instructor Inspector Derona Semper.

     

    The recruits were awarded trophies and commendations for excelling in several key areas. Best at Physical was Royal Police Constable (RPC) 43 Laurell Allen. Best Deportment and Best Drill was RPC 44 Brenda Gordon. RPC 17 Rakesh Jailall was given the Best Endeavor award, which is given to the student who demonstrates the tenacity to succeed.

     

    Best Academic  recruit was RPC 33 Chamella Carlisle, who achieved the highest overall scores in the police duty subjects.

     

    RPC44 Brenda Gordon received the Baton of Honour as the overall top recruit for performing well in the course and whose behaviour and deportment was exemplary and showed excellent team spirit.
