BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE man believed to have been responsible for the stabbing death of 26-year-old Tau Gowon surrendered to the authorities Saturday.
According to information reaching SKNVibes, on Saturday, April 19 2008, a man identified as Bishu Isaac of Shear Lane, Basseterre went to the Basseterre Police Station in the company of his lawyer and turned himself in.
A police press release informs that Isaac was first “arrested on suspicion of murder” and later charged with Gowon’s murder.
Gowon was stabbed to death on Friday evening, just hours after Charles Benjamin Matthew, alias Abaloo, was shot to death at the junction of Shaw Avenue and Cunningham Street, McKnight.
At about 8:00 on that evening at the junction of Central and Market Strees, Gowon reportedly had an altercation with a male which led to him being stabbed. He was pronounced dead by the District Medical Officer who visited the scene of the incident.
Gowon is the Federation’s eighth murder victim for the year. While one of the murders took place in Nevis, the remainder was in St. Kitts. ~~Adz:Right~~
