    ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, December 7th, 2011  – The Ministry of Communications and Works has contracted Mr. Claude Skelton Cline to provide consultancy services as Government seeks to keep its commitment to develop ports throughout the Territory.

    “The Ministry of Communications and Works is moving quickly to address the very urgent matter of ports development territory-wide, to this end it was extremely important to us that we identify a person who will focus on this task,” Honourable Mark Vanterpool told the Department of Information and Public Relations.

     

    “In this vain we have appointed Mr. Cline to organise, and instigate movement and provide information to the ministry so we can mobilise forthwith,” Minister Vanterpool explained.

     

    “I am results oriented and I expect a great partnership with the consultant that would bolster the status of our ports within the Territory,” Minister Vanterpool concluded.

     

    According to the contract, Mr. Cline’s scope of works includes but not limited to providing of consultancy services to the Ministry of Communications and Works and the Board of the BVI Ports Authority on the proper development of the Territory’s ports.

     

    He will also conduct research to assess the condition of all ports of entry in the Territory and prepare reports on findings and carry out reviews project proposals currently being considered for the development and expansion of ports in critical areas on Tortola (Cruise Pier and West End), Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke.

     

    The Ministry of Communications and Works remains committed to developing the territory’s public infrastructure.
