CHARLESTOWN, Nevis, December 8th, 2011 -- The Rotary four way test which states “Of the things we think, say or do, is it the truth; is it fair to all concerned; will it build goodwill and better friendships; [and] will it be beneficial to all concerned” was met, last Saturday [Dec. 3] when the Rotary Club of Nevis hosted its annual children’s Christmas party.

The afternoon event, held in Hamilton Estate at the residence of [the club’s] Past President Alford Tyrell, catered to 22 primary school students: two students from each primary school on Nevis, including the Special Education Unit.

While the children, who met the criteria of being “deserving” or “less fortunate,” reveled in the excitement triggered by the bouncing castle, Santa Claus’ gift presentation was the major highlight.

Through the Club’s intense sponsorship drive, gifts were secured from the Four Seasons Resort Estate, through the instrumentality of Chevy Harrison; the St. Kitts Bottling Company; Stone Solution Marble and Granite; Joseph Vento; and Minou Weber of the Rotary Club of Dudelange, Luxembourg.

According to Grade Five student at the Charlestown Primary School Belinda Clarke, “the party was really good.”
“I liked the bouncing castle and the food. I got to meet many friends,” she added.

While the students enjoyed grilled burgers and other treats, [the club’s] President Bernadette Lawrence reminded them to “be giving.” She also highlighted the significance of the Club’s four way test.

Student of the Bellevue International Primary School Recardoé Rodriques delivered the vote of thanks just moments before he and his peers raced towards the bouncing castle for their final moments of fun.
