Jailbreak juvenile captured in St. Paul’s

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A joint operation by members of the law enforcement agencies this morning (Dec. 10) captured the juvenile who broke out of Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP) yesterday afternoon.

     

    A brief press release from the Police Press and Public Relations Office, which lacks the basic tenets of information sharing, states, “The RSCNPF would like to thank the general public for their efforts rendered in assisting the various law enforcement agencies which afforded us the opportunity within 13 hours to locate and arrest one Jakeem Alford who escaped Lawful Custody at 2:00 p.m. on Friday 9th December 2011 from Her Majesty’s Prison.

     

    “As we continue to take back our streets we do look forward to the continued support of the General Public.”

     

    Investigations by this publication however revealed the juvenile was apprehended at about 2:00 a.m. this morning in the vicinity of his mother’s home in St. Paul’s.

     

    This information was confirmed by the Officer responsible for Crime, Assistant Commissioner Ian Queeley, who noted that a number of Prison Officers were among the law enforcement party that apprehended the escapee.

     

    He informed that the teenager was captured with the assistance given by his mother.

     

    Yesterday afternoon, a manhunt was launched for the teenager who escaped from HMP at approximately 2:00 p.m.

     

    SKNVibes was told by the Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Stephen Hector, that the young man was “within the female section of Her Majesty’s Prison and escaped by jumping over the northern wall which faces the Warner Park Stadium on Lozack Road”.
