    St. Kitts Tourism Authority continues its promotion of the destination in the Caribbean region

     


    ~~Adz:Left~~Bridgetown, Barbados, 24th April, 2008 - A two member team set out to continue building the presence of St. Kitts in the Caribbean as a destination to be visited by citizens of the region. The re-Discover the Caribbean Trade Show in Barbados is providing this opportunity to the Tourism Boards from across the region.

     

    Melnecia Daniel and Unoma Allen of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority arrived in Barbados last evening and began their assignment to promote the destination with an early morning live interview on the popular Good Mornin’ Barbados Television Show.  The ladies had a friendly chat with host, Pearson Bowen, during which they spoke of the attractions the island has to offer, the various travel options that can be taken to get to the island, the 12th installment of the St. Kitts Music Festival, National Carnival and plans for this weekend’s re-Discover Trade Show.

     

    Melnecia Daniel shared with viewers of the show that, “Five travel packages to the island are on offer for five lucky winners and their companions.  The lucky patrons of the Trade Show who visit the St. Kitts booth could win themselves a chance to visit the island for the 12th St. Kitts Music Festival and other times during the year.”  The Royal St. Kitts Hotel, St. Kitts Marriott Resort, Rawlins Plantation Inn, Frigate Bay Resort and Timothy Beach Hotel have all donated accommodation at their properties. LIAT has also partnered with the St. Kitts Tourism Authority and has offered extraordinary concessions on the cost of airfare for the grand prize.

     

    Pearson Bowen who is from Barbados has visited St. Kitts on many occasions and he encouraged viewers to make their way to the island.  In conversation with the ladies he reminisced about parts of the island such as The Circus and the restaurants surrounding the area and off-the beaten track food outlets he enjoyed during his visits.

    The early morning Show has a regular viewing audience of 60,000 and is seen in St. Vincent & the Grenadines, St. Lucia, Dominica and Grenada.

    The main mandate of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority is the promotion of the destination in is major visitor markets.

    About re-Discover
    The Trade Show will be held at the Sherbourne Centre, Bridgetown Barbados, from April 25th-26th, 2008.   It is an opportunity for the Caribbean Tourism Boards, Travel Agents and consumers to interact.
