    ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada, December 13th, 2011 -- Governor General Sir Carlyle Glean has proclaimed December 27th as a Bank Holiday in the State of Grenada.

     

    The Proclamation, published in the government Gazette on Friday, 9th, states as follows:

     

    “WHEREAS it is enacted by section 7 of the Bank Holidays Act Cap. 25, that it shall be lawful for the Governor-General from time to time by Proclamation in the Gazette to appoint a special day to be observed as
    a Bank Holiday throughout Grenada;

     

    NOW THEREFORE, I CARLYLE ARNOLD GLEAN, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George,
    Governor-General in and over Grenada, do appoint Tuesday, 27th December, 2011, to be observed as a Bank Holiday throughout Grenada;

     

    GIVEN under my hand and the Public Seal of Grenada, this 2nd day of December Two Thousand and Eleven in the fifty-ninth year of the reign of HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND.”

     

    For the purposes of clarification, the following dates will be recognized as a Bank Holidays in December 2011; Sunday 25th, Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th.

     

    It is also advised that Monday, January 2nd, 2012 will also be observed as a bank holiday, since New Year’s Day is celebrated on a Sunday.
