Four Dominican Republic nationals remanded for larceny

Two of the four larceny accused being escorted to Her Majesty’s Prison

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FOUR men from Santo Domingo who are currently residing in St. Kitts were this afternoon (Dec. 16) charged for allegedly stealing a quantity of items valued at some EC$500 000.

     

    Charged with larceny are Angel Palmer, Juan Fredrico Sarmiento and Ramoz Beuitilsoba of Durant Avenue, McKnight and Arismendi River Zolglfi of Thompson Street, McKnight.

     

    According to Inspector Charles Smithen, Head of the Criminal Investigations Department, the four men allegedly stole a large quantity of copper wire, scrap metals, old transformers and batteries valued at $EC0.5M from a businessman in the CA Paul Southwell Industrial Park between October 2010 and October 2011.

     

    Smithen said the men were officially arrested and charged sometime after 3:00 p.m. today, and had appeared before a City Magistrate who remanded them to Her Majesty’s Prison until their date of trial.
