BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO armed bandits yesterday afternoon (Dec. 16) robbed B’s Service Station in Sandy Point of an undisclosed sum of money and fled the scene in a waiting car.

Information reaching this publication indicated that at approximately 5:45 p.m. after the last of a long line of vehicles had purchased gasoline at the service station and the attendant was taking the sales into an office, two masked men, one armed with a firearm and another with a knife, pushed her into the building and ordered her and two cashiers to lie on the floor.

The armed robbers then took an undisclosed sum of money from the cash registers and also that which was collected from customers by the pump attendant and fled the scene in a waiting car, which is suspected to not have only contained the getaway driver.

SKNVibes understands that the car was parked in a secluded spot along the road that leads to the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, while the occupants were observing the movement of the diminishing long line of vehicles in order carry out their nefarious act.

The police were notified and following their quick reaction, complemented by a near-perfect intelligence network, more than two persons of interest are currently assisting them with investigations into the robbery.

This media house contacted Inspector Vaughan Henderson, Deputy Divisional Officer of ‘B’ Division, who noted that “a joint operation, comprising members of the Police Force, Customs and the Defence Force, was launched early this morning in the Challengers area and a number of persons were apprehended”.

Henderson, who for security reasons declined to state the exact location and how many persons were apprehended, however confirmed that more than two men are assisting police with their investigations, which he noted are ongoing and would soon lead to charges being instituted.

This is the second time in as many years that thieves had targeted B’s Service Station.
