BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ARE you ready for the hottest Kittitian J’Ouvert experience once again? ‘Red Devils’ promises to deliver that and much more to persons who jam with them this J’Ouvert.
And if their massive launch at Fat Tuesday on Dec. 9 was any indication of what the experience would be like then persons will certainly be in for a grand time.
Additionally, this year the creative minds of the troupe, Antoine Laws, Losana Laws, Kimbel Jeffers, Omari Mason and Andrew Arthurthon, who have been to several other J’Ouverts, especially in Trinidad, have stepped things up a notch and decided to introduce a new segment to their troupe called ‘Angels’.
So will you be ‘Naughty or Nice’ this J’Ouvert, when the many ‘Devils & Angels’ take to the road?
At their launch, which featured the Nu Vybes Band, there was a massive turnout as persons saw first-hand the outfits for the troupe which were showcased on local models.
The female models were looking devilish rocking their ‘devil horns’ and ‘pitchforks’ while the innocent- in-white females were complete Angels adorned with angel wings.
The outfits were well received by the crowd.
Also at the launch were package giveaways for the troupe, promotions by one of their sponsors, Digicel; and also a cheque hand-over by KFC to the Red Devils troupe.
According to Antoine Laws, last year they had one thousand satisfied customers and they do not expect anything less this year.
He said that the feedback they have received from persons who visit their facebook fan page, which is SK Red Devils, is that they had the best experience of their lives with the troupe.
The troupe also offers a full fledged costume for J’ouvert which includes water bottles, devil horns, pitchforks, towels and whistles while the package for the Angels will include angel wings along with other related products.
Persons can sign up at Plush Accessories and those who have already signed up for the troupe can start picking up their packages from Monday, Dec. 19.
This year just before the troupe takes to the road with music by Tombstone, EK and DJ Choice-One out of Atlanta, there will also be a foam party for members featuring two guest DJs.
Presently persons can sign up for their packages at a cost of EC $75 and the Red Devils possé will be on Central Street next week with more information on their troupe.
