8,616 cruise passengers visited St. Kitts on Monday

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, December 19th, 2011 (CUOPM) – The parade of cruise ships to the Port of Basseterre continued Monday with the arrival of three ships with over 8,000 passengers.
     
    The 2,450-passenger Celebrity Summit anchored off shore with 2,279 passengers. It arrived from St. Croix before leaving for Dominica.
     
    The 3,840-passenger Explorer of the Seas docked at Port Zante with 3,254 passengers having arrived from Antigua before going on to the United States.
     
    It was joined at Port Zante by the 3,597-passenger Azura, which brought 3,083 passengers.
     
    Most of the 8,616 passengers came ashore and went sight-seeing via the St. Kitts Scenic Railway, taxis, tour buses; or hiking, sea and sun bathing, shopping, sailing, snorkeling and bicycling.
     
    Tuesday the 2,540-passenger Serenade of the Seas, the 2,281-passenger Mein Schiff and the 2,680-passenger Carnival Miracle will visit St. Kitts.
     
    The second Celebrity ship, the 2,850-passenger Eclipse, docks on Wednesday.
     
    The 2,224-passenger Norwegian Dawn docks on Thursday.
     
    Two ships, the 3,050-passenger Carnival Victory and the 2,850-passenger Celebrity Solstice visit on Friday with the 255-passenger Royal Clipper and the 3,100-passenger Ventura berth on Saturday.
