The Prince & Princess Scholarship Pageant... This Thursday!

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, December 21st 2011 - The Prince and Princess Scholarship Pageant is scheduled to take place on Thursday December 22nd at 6:00PM in Carnival Village, Warner Park under the theme: “Dream Big and Live it.” The highly anticipated pageant was to be originally staged on Saturday December 10th but was postponed due to inclement weather on that day.

     

    Delegates from ten (10) primary schools have been working feverishly to present a thrilling pageant with a difference. “Our goal is to ensure that the participants understand that pageantry is not all about glitz and glamour but also a forum to ignite positive change,” said the pageant’s publicist. “Our prizes are mostly academic-based as it is a scholarship pageant and this was put in place to ensure that our youth will understand that academic excellence should always be given top priority.” The grand prizes include laptops, scholarships for books, uniforms and many other academic related items.

     

    The delegates will appear in three (3) judged segments: School’s Promotional Speech, Performing Talent and Youthful Formal Wear. The segments yearn to refine certain life skills that are essential to any growing individual. “It is our goal to utilize this pageant to constructively refine the public speaking skills of young people while ensuring that they are able to display their talents and carry themselves with pride and dignity,” said the pageant’s publicist.

     

    The ten (10) participating schools include: Saddlers Primary, Irish Town Primary, Estridge Primary, Dr. William Connor Primary, Dean Glasford Primary, Cayon Primary, Bronte Welsh Primary, Tyrell Williams Primary, St. Paul’s Primary and Dieppe Bay Primary.

     


    The Organizing Committee wishes to express sincere gratitude to Sun Island Clothes, LIME, Fourd Abourizk, Ashburry’s, OD Brisbane and Sons, The Craft House, TDC, Plush Accessories, Carib Brewery, Premier Planners, Chef’s Garden, Sensational, Harpers, Caribelle Batik, S.L.     Tickets are available for $20 at Plush Accessories on West Independence Square Street or at the ticket booth at Carnival Village from 4 p.m on the day of the pageant.
