Press Release

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, December 21st, 2011 (SKNIS) – December 21, 2011):  As part of the Annual Christmas programme put on by the staff of the Mary Charles Hospital, a lively Christmas treat took place on December 20, 2011.

The annual programme featured songs, poems, and greetings from the Hon. Marcella Liburd, Minister of Health.  The Parliamentary Representative, the Hon Dr. Timothy Harris, was given the special responsibility of bringing the Christmas message.

Dr. Harris in his message emphasized the significance of the birth of Christ, lessons from his sojourn on earth and the power of his resurrection.  Dr. Harris said that Christ took on the human condition and suffered for our transgressions. As a result Jesus Christ understands the human nature, its frailties and strengths and predisposition.

“As a living saviour, Christ is sufficient to help us overcome our trials, temptations, worries, our challenges.  Not only is his grace sufficient, but his love knows no limit,” said Dr. Harris, as he wrapped up an impassioned address.

Dr. Garfield Alexander, the District Medical Officer delivered the vote of thanks.
