ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, December 22nd, 2011 – The Efficiency, Innovate and Save (EIS) competition online poll is now available for members of the public to vote for the top idea from both the private and public sectors. The poll is open on BVI Platinum and Virgin Islands News Online websites and the public is encouraged to visit those websites and cast their vote for the idea of their choice.

Permanent Secretary in the Deputy Governor’s Office Mr. David Archer speaking to the Department of Information and Public Relations explained, “The assessment committee picked the top nine ideas and the Heads of Departments voted on their top three from each sector and now the input of the public is needed to pick the winners”

“We thought it was important to take the decision to the public to choose the winners because the competition was opened to both sectors and it is only fitting that it concludes with input from both sectors,” Mr. Archer added.
The EIS competition was launched in January of this year and ran for nine months.

The competition, which emanated from the Deputy Governor’s Office’s 2011 Work Plan, was a territory-wide competition opened to public officers and members of the public inviting them to produce collaborative ideas on ways to make the public service stronger and more efficient while reducing operating costs.
