NASSAU Bahamas, December 29th, 2011 -- My name is Monesha Bowleg, a fifteen year old eleventh grade student. At my school, I am actively involved with the choir, drama club, track and soccer teams. I participated in the National Arts Festival five times, succeeding as the National winner three consecutive times.
I am a leading soloist in the Bahamas National Children’s Choir, performing both locally and internationally. As an ambassador of The Bahamas, I have travelled to places such as The United States, West Africa, Europe, Mexico, Cuba, the Caribbean and many other places, too numerous to mention.
I am an active member and psalmist of Children’s church of my own church, a lead dancer and assistant choreographer in the dance ministry and one of the lead soloists in my church’s Children’s choir. I am a fun and charismatic person with a lot of personality.
I consider myself unique, not only because of my many talents, but because of my ability to communicate with individuals on any level. I am well-versed and very confident in myself, but never narcissistic. I am a very perseverant and hard-working person who does not believe in the word “can’t”. My life’s mantra is “Greatness is revealed not by the light that shines upon you, but by the light that shines from within”.
