PAM stages Massive Meeting in Halfway Tree

Basseterre; St. Kitts - At Thursday's public meeting May 1, 2008, the People's Action Movement (PAM) reckoned one clear message from the residents of Halfway Tree - The Time For Change Is Now!

By the time the candidate for Constituency # 4 -PAM Leader Mr. Lindsay Grant-was set to speak, there was not a ghost left in the large crowd unconvinced. He literally went to the podium on a wave of cheering supporters. To this overwhelming welcome, Mr. Grant responded "Let them ring the bell now, the people have stepped in to put the country back on the right direction."

Recently nominated for the third time as PAM Political Leader, Mr. Grant spoke about his journey since the time when he was just a boy working at his father's egg farm. From a humble beginning of having to clean up after chickens, Mr. Grant mused about the Wind of Change in his own life.

On the issues, Mr. Grant spoke with sadness about the lack of adequate and affordable healthcare in St. Kitts and Nevis. Mr. Grant declared that in addition to a priority for much needed Hospital improvements, a new PAM Government would ensure that the poor and others unable to afford could access overseas medical treatment if it was not available in St. Kitts and Nevis.

Mr. Grant also stated his belief that everyone born in St. Kitts and Nevis must have a decent wage. Speaking now to the ex-sugar workers, Mr. Grant restated that the 16 million dollars still owed to them when the current Labour Government closed the sugar industry since 2005, would be taken off the bank by a new PAM Government, and paid to them in full with the interest accrued.

The people of Constituency #4 confirmed Mr. Lindsay Grant to be their parliamentary choice for the upcoming General Election through their massive show of support at the meeting , and by the Wind of Change now strong in St. Kitts and Nevis embraced him to be the next Prime Minister of our Federation.
