BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – SOME might refer to him as being lucky. However, a man who was involved in a four-vehicle accident on Sunday (Jan. 8) evening is probably thankful that he escaped with his life from the crash.
Occurring along the Island Main Road in Halfway Tree, the accident, according to police sources, involved: motorcar P4670, driven by Melville Rawlins of Tree Top Housing, Sandy Point; motor pickup P6402, owned by Glenford Williams of Camps; motorcar P8678, owned by Antonio Veira of Halfway Tree and motorcar P38 owned by Janelle Isles.
SKNVibes understands that Rawlins was driving P4670 from Sandy Point’s direction towards Old Road, and while attempting to avoid a collision with an oncoming motorcycle he lost control of the vehicle and collided with P8678 which was parked on the mountain side of the road.
P4670 then collided with another parked vehicle (P6402) causing it to collide with yet another parked vehicle, PA38.
This publication understands that Rawlins may have sustained a minor injury to his head after it made impact with P4670’s front windscreen during the incident. He was reportedly taken to the hospital where he was treated and discharged.
The other vehicles were unoccupied when the accident occurred.
The vehicle, driven by Rawlins, was extensively damaged, with most of it being sustained to the front.
Motorcar P8678 sustained damage to its right side, rear, and its front bumper was totally removed. P6402 sustained minimal damage to its front and right side rear, while PA38 sustained minimal damage to its rear.
Officers attached to the Sandy Point Police Station were summoned to the scene.
