ECSE daily news report: JAN 17

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, January 18th, 2012 -- Welcome to the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange’s daily update for 17 January 2012 providing the latest trading information and financial tips for the investor.

     

    On the Eastern Caribbean Securities Market today, trading activity included 1,000 East Caribbean Financial Holdings shares trading at prices ranging from $11.28 to the closing high of $11.30 per share, which represents an increase of $0.02 or 0.18% from its previous market close; 900 St Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank shares which traded at $2.35 per share, falling $0.10 or 4.08% from its previous market close; and 300 S L Horsford & Co Ltd shares which traded at $1.47 per share, a decrease of $0.03 or 2.0% from its previous market close.

     

    On the Regional Government Securities Market, the auction of the Government of Saint Lucia’s EC$11 million 91-day Treasury bill, using the primary market platform of the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange (ECSE), was oversubscribed by $2.75 million. A competitive uniform price auction methodology was used and the resulting discount rate was 4.5 per cent.
