Basseterre, St. Kitts - ANOTHER business entity recently displayed its good corporate citizenship in cash and kind to the Police Force Netball Team, and to the Royal St. Christopher & Nevis Police Force.
Duanne Jones, the principal shareholder of the local ‘Subway’ (a US based Sandwich Making Franchise) made the donation of EC$5000 and Team Uniforms to the Police Netball Team. This donation was instrumental in allowing the team to travel to Trinidad to compete in the first ever Regional Police Force Netball Meet.
Additionally, SKNVibes.com learnt that Jones had previously made an offer of a 10% discount to all uniformed Police Officers who patronize Subway. Police Officers not in uniform (plain clothes police) must present a valid Police Force Identification Card to access the discount.
Jones, a Dentist by profession and a partner at Premier Dental Ltd., made the official offer to the Commissioner of Police Austin Williams early in April 2008, as a gesture of appreciation for the hard work of the Police Force in their peace keeping and crime fighting efforts. ~~Adz:Right~~
SKNVibes.com spoke to local Subway Manager Annette Tyson, who revealed that the discount is already in effect and that whenever a uniformed Police Officer enters Subway to buy a meal the cashier automatically applies the 10% discount to their bill.
The Commissioner of Police expressed gratitude on behalf of the entire organisation for the corporate token action made by Jones and Subway.
