ROSEAU Dominica, January 23rd, 2012  -- The Discover Dominica Authority continues to work with various organizations involved in student tours. Arcadia University visited Dominica as part of their academic programme on International Experience.

For the past three years, the Discover Dominica Authority has been working with the University to organize several activities geared at educating the students on the tourism industry in Dominica.

The group lead by one of the University’s professors coordinated a beach clean-up at Scoots Head this past weekend as a means of giving back and working together with a local community. The Discover Dominica Authority also facilitated an educational tour of a cruise ship while at port, and two lectures informing them on the state of the industry and sustainable tourism.

They visited the Kalinago Territory and other sites including the Boiling Lake and the Indian River while on island. Other partners whose contribution made the visit a success included the Dominica Solid Waste Corporation who facilitated the beach clean-up and KHATTS a certified tour operator, who provided transportation.
