~~Adz:Left~~CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - THE Netball Complex in Charlestown will be a hub of activities from 6.00 p.m when the schools in Nevis showcase their music talents.

According to the national committee that has coordinated the event, the Musical Expose was created by Herald Sutton in 2006 to showcase the musical talent of the children of Nevis and the role the Music Department plays in the development of that talent.

The committee members and Education Department officials believe that the present generation of Nevis’ children, like their predecessors, is extremely talented and Musical Expose 2008, which will be held tomorrow [Wednesday, May 28] at the Netball Complex in Charlestown at 6:00 p.m., would reflect that.

Every school on the island will be represented in performance and the variety showcases recorders, pan, musical drama, drumming, the Secondary Schools’ Band Programme, choirs, and last but not least, the Charlestown Primary Iron Band. The Music Department’s tutors will close the evening’s proceedings with an item reflecting the musical integrity of the Department.

This year’s presentation was organised by a very hard working committee comprising representatives from each school on the island. This committee has been meeting every Friday to ensure that the logistics of the evening’s proceedings are all properly prepared.

The Department of Education has the supporting role and the Principal Education Officer, the Permanent Secretary and the Minister of Education are all solidly supporting and will be present at the Netball Complex to lustily cheer the evening’s performances.

The steering committee has deliberately presented a thorough mix of items so that patrons who arrive late may just miss out on their favourite school’s performance. The committee intends to sound the National Anthem at 6:00 p.m. and continue with a smooth flow of the proceedings.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, and are available at schools and the Department of Education.
