BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, February 16th, 2012 (CUOPM) – The visit by a cruise ship Thursday and on three on Wednesday to St. Kitts, pushed the number of cruise passengers for this week to 22,000 from 11 ships.
The 1,611-passenger Thomson Dream berth at Port Zante Thursday with 1,498 passengers after arriving from St. Maarten.
On Wednesday, the three ships in port were the 2,850-passenger Celebrity Eclipse, which arrived from St. Maarten with 2,861 passengers; the 2,850-passenger Celebrity Silhouette with 2,838 passengers. Both berth at Port Zante, while the 255-passenger Royal Clipper had 155 passengers on board.
Most of the 5,854 passengers disembarked and went on sight-seeing tours, snorkeling, diving, golfing, hiking, shopping, swimming sunbathing and gambling.
The 3,050-passenger Carnival Victory is scheduled to visit on Friday and is expected to push the arrivals to 25,000 for this week.
