I’m Dishonest

It is believed that even the PM now recognizes that he has been and continues to be dishonest to the people of this nation.

The High Court has already openly stated its opinion on the dishonesty of our PM. In 2009 the court stated that the PM was a stranger to the truth. Those currently in Cabinet and others who were once Ministers of Government openly speak of the dishonesty and lies of the prime minister and of the effect that this high level dishonesty is having on our country. The nation can well remember that on July 12 2011 the PM publicly stated that the Nevis Elections were ‘Free and Fair’.

That type of dishonesty by the PM ought not to be tolerated further. The PM is no idiot and is well aware of the policies of the Electoral Office, which falls under his ministry. He is aware that biased and crooked persons are employed within that office, and the Nevis election results were what they were designed to be. Describing the Nevis elections as free and fair is gross dishonesty. And, there is more.

The Prime Minister, Denzil Douglas, was dishonest to the Press and his listeners when he stated that VAT Revenue exceeded the Finance Department’s estimates for 2011. He lyingly stated that VAT was projected to generate seventy-nine million dollars in revenue, but instead generated actual of one hundred and four million dollars.

This statement was sickenly dishonest because government documents indicate that total VAT Revenue from the Customs as well as the Business Community was projected at $118 Million. The actual VAT collected, was fourteen million dollars short of the Target, yet, our lying PM boasted of success when he in fact failed. The same as he did when he dishonestly stated that his Government won 99% of the Constituency Boundaries Case in 2011 when in fact his Government had to pay costs.

We can well remember the dishonesty associated with statements and press releases eminating from the PM or his office. According to the PM everything was well with Beacon Heights. Contec was a reputable company and your money was safe in Social Security. The reality is Beacon Heights ceased work. Contec in courts with bankruptcy issues and Social Security has now realized their bad investments in the project. Not only that, but Social Security had massive amounts invested in Government Bonds and Treasury Bills.

Government defaulted on their Bonds and Treasury Bills are now suspect putting the people’s personal money at great risk. When CLICO, British American and C L Financial of Trinidad, first had their problems the PM had much to say about people losing their money, now that people are losing their money in Government Bonds and possibly Treasury Bills, who but himself must we blame?? Are we now to have a revolution against the lying, dishonest prime minister, especially after the fact that the Ministry of Finance issued a letter advising all T Bill holders that their money was safe because Treasury Bills were not part of the IMF Standby Arrangement?

There is much dishonesty in the statements we hear from the PM about the Sugar Industry Diversification Fund. Our national assets in the form of passports are being sold to all and sundry. Revenue obtained from the sale of our assets belong in the Treasury, where all other revenues of Government are deposited but the SIDF money is stored in hidden accounts and managed by close friends of the PM.

That is not how Government’s money ought to be handled as this can lead to theft, corruption and dishonesty by those involved. The PM has also been dishonest about the retrenchment of Civil Servants whom he claims are unproductive and underperforming, or have other sources of income beside that of the Government.

The PM is dishonest in not admitting that he created this situation to gain votes and by all accounts Denzil Douglas himself is unproductive, underperforming and has other sources of income; therefore he too must be retrenched in order to save the country money and to give our economy a chance to recover. The PM has placed this nation under so much financial stress, that, had there been free and fair elections in this country, he would have been put out to pasture long, long ago. Dishonesty is the greatest strength of the PM.
