BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - TWO young ladies are currently in police custody after they were caught today (Feb. 22) stealing a beauty cream at Lucky Cosmetics store situated at Amory’s Building at The Circus in Basseterre.

SKNVibes received reports of the shoplifting shortly before 2:00 p.m. and, upon arrival at the scene, observed police officers investigating the matter.

Speaking with the store's manager, Sanjay, he told this media house that the young ladies, one who with a baby in her arms and shouldering a diaper bag, attempted to steal a beauty cream valued at EC$27.95.

He explained that the young ladies were standing in the aisle closest to the entrance of the store, facing each other.

The one without the baby removed a Sissy fat burning, anti-cellulite, anti-stretch mark cream from the box. She then walked behind the other girl, turned and to face her back, slipped the beauty cream in the diaper bag and left the empty box on the shelf.

She then walked away, went back to the aisle and when approached by a male employee, asked him about another item in the store.

The manager further explained that, being suspicious, he immediately went to check the surveillance camera and saw the illegal activities and contacted the police.

The ladies lingered for a while before attempting to exit the store but could not, because the manager had already locked the door.

This is not the first time the two ladies had stolen from the store.

The manager explained that earlier this month, the ladies went to the store and made off with a Neutrogena Visibly Firm eye cream worth EC$62.80.
