Press Release (ECCB)

Basseterre, St Kitts,  February 23rd, 2012  --  Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), the Honourable Sir K Dwight Venner, will outline the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) member governments’ response to the challenges the region continues to face when he presents the 2011 ECCU Economic Review on 23 February.

The Governor will also present a review of the economic performance of the ECCU in 2011; some of the major issues at the international, regional and national levels which have affected and will continue to affect the development of the ECCU economy; and the framework for addressing the long-run growth and development of the region in a rapidly changing environment.

The presentation will be broadcast simultaneously on radio and television stations in the eight ECCU member countries at 8:00 p.m. Following the Governor’s review, citizens throughout the region will engage the Governor in discussions, via videoconference, on the issues arising from the presentation and other matters that affect the economic development of the ECCU.
