BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - FRONTLINE officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force will be better prepared to respond to firearm-related incidents, thanks to the donation of a number of bullet-proof vests by a corporate citizen.

The donation was made yesterday afternoon by Dr. Duane Jones of Premier Dental Lab.  Present at the brief handing over ceremony were Divisional Commander of District “A” Inspector Ian Queeley and Head of the Police Force’s Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Cromwell Henry.

According to a police press release issued yesterday afternoon, Dr. Jones indicated that he made the decision to donation the bullet-proof vests after he realised that the Police were in need of assistance in their crime fighting efforts.

In accepting the six bullet-proof vests on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Inspector Queeley thanked Dr. Jones and noted that the items would indeed assist with the force’s crime-fighting efforts.  ~~Adz:Right~~

Queeley also urged other businesses to take a page from Dr. Jones’ book and exercise their corporate responsibility “to ensure that an environment conducive to the conduct of business be maintained”.
