Press Release (SKNIS)

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 07th, 2012 (SKNIS): A Recruiter from the Admissions Office at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI), St. Thomas, is currently in the Federation and will be meeting with prospective UVI students on Thursday (March 8).

UVI Admissions Recruiter Campbell Douglas is inviting members of the public in general, prospective school-leavers and particularly students about to complete the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) to an Information Session which takes place at the CFBC Technical and Vocational (Tech Voc) Division on Horsfords Road, at 5:00 p.m.

Mr. Douglas revealed to the St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service that CFBC Graduates stand to benefit from the arrangements of a Memorandum of Understanding between UVI and CFBC which allows a reduced tuition rate.  He stressed however, that this did not suggest that only CFBC graduates would be admitted to the University, but instead, he made it quite clear that all residents were free to apply.

UVI offers undergraduate degrees (Associates and Bachelor’s level) in disciplines such as accounting, business administration, elementary education and psychology. While degrees offered at Graduate (Masters level) includes disciplines such as business administration, education as well as marine and environmental science.

The Admissions Recruiter explained that at Thursday’s Information Session he will be available to answer questions pertaining to the learning institution as well as assisting with the application process where possible.

As such, he suggested that prospective students who are already in the application process can attend the session not only to get a general understanding of what to expect at the university but also to determine if he would be able to assist with any of the procedures that have to be undertaken.  Such persons were asked to bring the required application documents that they have already collected.
