Press Release (BVI)

ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, March 13th, 2012  - The Civil Registry and Passport Office is informing the public that, in an effort to better serve its customers, effective April 2 the processing of Belonger Status and Visa Services will be conducted on specific days.

The public is asked to take note that Visa Services will be conducted on Mondays and Wednesdays and collected on Fridays while Belonger Card Services will be conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays and collected the following Tuesday and Thursday by appointment only.

Registrar-General Mrs. Stephanie Benn explaining the reason for implementing the special days to the Department of Information and Public Relations said, “The decision to implement these new hours came out of a customer service focus group session on ways to improve the work-flow of the office.”

Mrs. Benn added, “The special days are more customer service oriented and will give employees more time to focus on the processing of paperwork and documents, which will ensure that customers are served in a timely manner and in turn will result in a quicker turnaround time for both services.”

The Registrar-General is also reminding the public that the holiday season is fast approaching and is encouraging persons to check their travel documents to ensure they are current.

The Civil Registry and Passport Office operates in two separate locations namely the Central Administration Building and Upstairs the Burhym Building on Wickham’s Cay and is open to customers from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
