BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE St. Kitts-Nevis Amateur Athletics Association (SKAAA) will soon announce the team that will be representing the Federation at the LIME CARIFTA Games, and among the athletes are Nathaniel Huggins, Clairvorn Kelly, Colin Archibald and Adrian Williams.

A recent release from the SKNAAA’s PRO, Evris Huggins, indicated that the above named athletes’ selection was based on their excellent performance at the recently-held National Junior Championship and CARIFTA Trials.

He noted that Huggins of the Extreme Velocity Track Club in the Under-17 Male Long Jump event, Kelly of Pace Setters Track Club in the Under-17 Male High Jump, Archibald of Gladiators Track Club  in the Under-17 Male Shot Put and Williams, also of Gladiators Track Club, will compete in the Under-20 Male Javelin event.
Also recorded as a qualifier is Kajon Parris of Extreme Velocity Track Club, who made the B Standard in the Under-17 Male 800m with a time of 2:00.33.

According Huggins, there was one qualifier for the World Junior Championships which will be held in Barcelona, Spain on July 10-15. That athlete is Brittany Morton of the Titans Athletic Track Club who clocked 11.90 seconds in the Female 100m event.

The release also stated that the evening “climaxed when a male quartet comprising of Clairvorn Kelly, Alkronus Bridgewater, Josiah Oyebefun and Xavier Francis were successful in attaining the B qualifying standard in the male 4X100m Under-17 relay”.

That was done in a time of 43.25 seconds.

“Granted that these persons have qualified, it is important to note that the selection would be made and announced at a later date. The overall results will be made available once ratified by the games committee,” the PRO said.

Persons are asked to visit SKNAAA Facebook Fan Page for more information which includes photos and videos of the National Junior Championships.

“The SKNAAA extends hearty congratulations to all of our participants in particular those who achieved qualifying marks at the Championships,” Huggins said.
