CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – NEVIS has recorded its second murder for 2008 when a young man was violently gunned down in Charlestown sometime last night.
Preliminary inquiries have revealed that police found the bullet-ridden body of a male youth after 3 a.m. on Marion Avenue. The young man, who is reportedly a native of St. Kitts was pronounced dead later this morning.
According to Police Public Relations Head Inspector Cromwell Henry, the young man was known to hang around persons of “questionable character” but said he did not have any additional information at that time.
SKNVibes.com has learned that the shooting victim, referred to only as ‘Leon’ had lived in Greenlands, Basseterre with family members before migrating to the U.S. where he resided for a ‘few years’. ~~Adz:Right~~
He was said to be in his mid to late twenties.
Sources have told this media house that the young man was living at Happy Hill, Nevis with a family friend ‘Postman’ and was on his way home when he was ambushed. Reports emanating from Nevis also point to a lone gunman although police sources confirmed that no suspects have been identified or taken into custody.
Unsubstantiated information out of Nevis intimates that the shooting was gang related but SKNVibes.com has not been able to confirm the motive as Nevis Police say they are still investigating the incident.
This death brings the murder toll for the federation to a staggering 11 entering the sixth month of 2008.
