The prizes will be awarded as follows:

According to SKNAAA Public Relations Officer Evris Huggins, the winning schools would be determined by the most gold medals and the flow for the remaining positions would follow that descending order.

“In the event of a tie for gold medals, the school with the most silvers will be awarded the winner. The same procedure will be applied to the bronze medal category in the event there is a tie with gold and silver,” Huggins said.

The PRO stated that it is important to note that the principal sponsor, the St. Kitts and Nevis Trading Development Group of Companies (TDC) would be celebrating its 35th year of sponsorship to the championships.

“Joining LIME and Coco-Cola, as long term and major sponsors, will be Western Union as Silver Sponsors for this year’s championships,” he added.

Huggins explained that amongst the highlights, they would be introducing, for the first time, the combination events with the Heptathlon (seven events) for the Under-15 Male and Female categories. The winner for this multi-event discipline would be determined by the total points accumulated at the completion of all seven events.

He also explained that there is a plan to continue introducing the multi-events in the Under-17 and Under-20 categories in 2013 and 2014.

“We will, for the very first time, be streaming the championships live with full commentary, blogging, photos and results,” he said.
