Public Education Programs On Red Lion Fish To Commence

    KINGSTOWN St.Vincent, March 22nd, 2012  --  A series of public outreach programs will be carried out by the Fisheries Division to inform the public about efforts to control the spread of the Red Lion Fish.

     

    Chief Fisheries Officer Raymond Ryan says they have been meeting with stakeholders in the Fishing Industry to formulate a Policy Framework for the Management and Control of the Lion Fish.

     

    He says the discussions focused on the drafting of a Response Plan, which includes a Public Education Program.

     

    Mr. Ryan says the Fisheries Department will be involved in the Monitoring, Research and Data Collection of the Lion Fish.
