CASTRIES St. Lucia, March 22nd,  2012   –   The West Indies Senior Men`s Cricket team is in town and set to do battle with Australia in two one day internationals (ODI`s) and a T20 from Friday March 23rd, 012 at the Beausejour Cricket Ground.

Led by Saint Lucian born captain Darren Sammy the team landed at the George FL Charles Airport on Wednesday March 21st  to a truly Lucian welcome.

Sammy says the team is confident they can beat Australia. “Now we are here in Saint Lucia it is my homeland and also Johnson Charles homeland so I ask the public to come out in large numbers and support the West Indies Team.  We believe we can beat Australia and we are going to go out and just put our best feet forward”.

The Digicel one day series is tied 1-1 after a knife edge draw in the third match at the Arnos Vale stadium.

Sammy disclosed that the West Indies selectors have made one change to the thirteen man squad. “Adrian Barath comes in for Kieran Powell that is the only change and that is the thirteen selected so far for the two ODI`s in Saint Lucia so hopefully we can bat better and our bowlers can continue to bowl well and even improve”.

Tickets for the two ODI`s on Friday and Sunday and the T20 next week Tuesday start at $50EC. With the backing of the Saint Lucian public who are encouraged to support the games in record numbers, the West Indies team have an excellent opportunity to turn around the fortunes in West Indies cricket and bring smiles back to the faces of West Indian fans.
