Logon to vibesantigua.com... Antigua News

ST.JOHN'S Antigua, March 28th,  2012  --  Cabinet at its weekly session on Tuesday 27th March noted with sadness the passing of former advisor to the Government of Antigua and Barbuda Roy Boyke.

Roy Boyke passed away on March 26 at his home in Maracas, St. Joseph in Trinidad and Tobago after a long illness.

Cabinet expressed its sympathy to the wife and daughter of Roy Boyke and noted his sterling service as advisor to the Government of Antigua and Barbuda and his relentless pursuit in ensuring that the UPP Administration functioned with integrity and professionalism.

“Roy Boyke’s dedication to the Government of Antigua and Barbuda was patriotic.  He was a guiding force behind the administration’s trilogy of Anti-Corruption legislation: The Freedom of Information Act, the Integrity in Public Life Act and the Freedom of Information Act.  His views and advice were always respected and his contributions will always be remembered.  He will be sadly missed”

Roy Boyke also served as political strategist for the United Progressive Party and is credited for the party’s massive victory in 2004 and its re-election in 2009.    He was also responsible for the highly noted Agenda For Change and Action Agenda broadcasts presented by Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer from 2003 to 2007.

Roy Boyke, trained in the United Kingdom, was a highly sought after political communicator and consultant, who worked with the Basdeo Panday Administration in Trinidad and Today and ran successful election campaigns in Barbados, St. Lucia, Bermuda and Antigua and Barbuda.

Prime Minister Spencer on Tuesday sent a message of condolence to his wife Frances Anne, a former BWIA flight attendant, and his daughter Rionne, an attorney.
