ST.JOHN'S Antigua,  April 3rd, 2012  --  LIME is on board as the main sponsor of TELE-GATHERING – a weekend scheduled to take place from April 5th – 9th in Antigua.

In its 17th Edition, TELE-GATHERING is staged every Easter by the LIME Sports and Social Clubs across the Caribbean as well as with Guyana Telecoms (GT &T) and Telecommunication Services of Trinidad & Tobago (TSTT) to build fellowship, foster positive relations among colleagues from the various islands, embrace community stewardship and fun.

This year, team Antigua will host the highly-anticipated weekend of events under the theme “Slice of Paradise, TG2012 IN WADADLI, IT GO REAL NICE’ – catering to over 250 delegates from Anguilla, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Tortola, Trinidad, TCI and host Antigua and Barbuda.

As part of the weekend’s activities the team will expose and showcase some of the undiscovered talents in Antigua/Barbuda by treating the delegates to the play “Forbidden Love”, written and directed by Antiguan Playwright Owen Jackson during our Cultural Extravaganza on the 7th Apr 2012.

Combined with this activity is an official Opening Ceremony on Thursday 5th Apr 2012 to welcome the delegates to the beautiful Antiguan shores where the beach is just the beginning, a breath-taking CATAMARAN cruise of Antigua’s west coast on Good Friday, an island tour on Sunday 8th Apr 2012 taking in some of the most attractive sights on offer, the Nelsons Dockyard and Shirley’s Heights to name a few as well as a beach picnic with a difference as we introduce the delegation to one(1) of our 365 beaches.

The signature event in association with LIME, which is the Community Project, will take place on the Saturday morning at 6AM which will take on the shape of a 4 mile walk and is planned around a DNT TXT N DRIVE campaign encouraging not to text and drive.

The weekend will culminate with an official Closing Ceremony on Monday 9th Apr 2012 with the participating countries sharing their experience gained in Antigua/Barbuda with their colleagues and also exchanging unique souvenirs and gifts indigenous to their respective territories.

The spirit of TELE-GATHERING remains alive as we pass the baton to our friends from Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT) who will serve as TELE-GATHERING XV111 host in 2013.
