Enjoy this EASTER the BLACK SAN way!!

Press Release

BASSETERRE St. Kitts, April 3rd 2012 - This is the week of the holidays; students are off from school and Easter preparations are steadily progressing. In Sandy Point, it is the week everyone has been looking forward to for a long time, and you too can be part of the community’s sensational Black San’ celebrations!!

Black San’ Bang-a-Lang, has been much-talked-about in recent times as last week once again saw the staging of some of the most extraordinary and exciting events in the history of community festivals! And this week’s Game Show, Giant Malt Endurance Bike-a-thon and Drama festival are the precursor events to an even more action-packed weekend.

The RAMS SPIRIT Game Show is poised to bring back laughter and excitement on Thursday 5th April, 2012 as the sponsors and participating families are all excited to see the return of one of last year’s most successful events! This one is for families - families who wouldn't mind winning a grand prize of EC$3,000!

It will be families coming up against families in different segments, including a Family Feud battle to the top and a Rams Price is Right segment with lots of special prizes to be won! An admission of EC$5 gets you inside.  Dust off those General Knowledge books and bring your family to SPIRIT's family Game show. In fact, signing up is a breeze: simply request a registration form for the family feud segment by sending an email to sandypointspirit@gmail.com or calling 663-3699, 664-7477. Give it a try!

On Good Friday (April 6th, 2012), don’t just be a spectator! Beg, borrow, bring a bicycle and test yourself in the adrenaline challenge as the Endurance Bike-a-thon makes its way around the island. With free food and drinks for participants and a chance to win prizes, the island-wide race starts off at 11:00 AM in Romney Ground and will trail westward, ending at the festival’s Sandy Bank venue in Sandy Point. Official registration starts at 10:00 AM at Romney Ground for one hour.

All cyclists must wear proper headgear and enclosed shoes.  Be sure to line the streets in your area and cheer on the cyclers, or make your way to Sandy Bank to witness for yourself the winners of this endurance challenge.

Later that evening at 7:00pm, Black San’s parent organization SPIRIT has promised to turn up the excitement with an event that simply cannot be missed, with the first ever BLACK SAN’ Drama festival.  The event features regionally-renowned playwrights and producers, the likes of Moses Byron of St. Kitts Actors, Keisha Isaac of Nubian Arts and O'Loughlin Tatem of Poinciana Pro. Come and celebrate the arts packaged with special performances from the Eclectic Moves Dance Academy, Island Xpressions and much more.  Admission to this exciting evening is EC$5.
