Omarion Joins Line Up For 2012 St. Kitts Music Festival

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, April 3rd, 2012  --  R&B heart-throb Omarion has been added to the “Sweet Sixteen” edition of the Annual St. Kitts Music Festival, which takes place on Thursday June 28th to Saturday June 30th, 2012, at the historic Warner Park Stadium in Basseterre, the island’s capital city.

     

    Omarion, who’s legal name is Omari Ishmael Grandberry, is an exceptional American  R&B singer, actor, songwriter, record producer, dancer, and former lead singer of the popular R&B group, B2K.

     

    Minister of Tourism & International Transport, Senator Ricky Skerrit, said the Grammy-nominated entertainer, often referred to as just ‘O’, is a multi-platinum superstar who is expected put on a spectacular performance while generating a more youthful and energetic atmosphere at the Festival.

     

    “Omarion is an exciting artist known for his vocal, dancing and acting abilities,” Senator Skerritt said. “He is a renowned entertainer with world-wide appeal, and so would certainly enhance the reputation of the St. Kitts Music Festival as the most dynamic musical show in the Caribbean with rich variety, world-class standards, and exhilarating performances.”

     

    Omarion was the last member to join B2K and became the lead singer of the group. The band released their debut album, B2K. Their second album, Pandemonium, reached the top ten on the Billboard 200, giving them their first #1 with “Bump, Bump, Bump.”  The group also produced the soundtrack to the movie “You Got Served.”

     

    After the breakup of B2K, Omarion started his solo career  and is known for hit singles such as  “O”, “Touch”, “I'm Tryna”, “Entourage” “Ice Box”, “Speedin” and “I Get In”. Omarion has collaborated with Bow Wow to produce “Let Me Hold You”, “Girlfriend” and “Hey Baby”.

     

    Omarion is just the latest of an impressive St. Kitts Music festival lineup that is expected to be finalized over the next two weeks. Damien Marley, Roberta Flack, Morgan Heritage and Courtney Pine have already been announced as performers for the upcoming June,2012 event.

     

    Now in its 16th year, the Festival attracts both locals and visitors alike. It features a wide range of musical styles on the popular market, including R&B, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Soca, Calypso, Gospel and Contemporary music.

     

    Past artists have included such prominent acts as John Legend, T-Pain, Michael Bolton, K.C. and the Sunshine Band, UB40’s Ali Campbell, Wyclef Jean, Ne-Yo, Air Supply, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, The Commodores, Dionne Warwick, Billy Ocean, Sean Paul, Boyz II Men, King Konris, Stephen Marley, Regina Belle, Maxi Priest, Biggie Irie, Bunny Wailer and Lord Nelson.
