~~Adz:Left~~CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - FOLLOWING the apparent outbreak in criminal activity among the Federation’s youth, SKNVibes took to the streets to get people’s opinion on the issue. Many persons indicated that the level of crime has caused them to become scared and, as such, their identities remain anonymous.

Question: What do you think can be done about the current crime situation?

    Masablue
    • “I think it boils down to increase Police patrols between 6:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.  They should decrease manpower in the daytime and increase manpower at nights, when people are more susceptible to danger or harm.”

    Community Man
    • “I think the ministers all need to get serious. The ministers of government and the ministers of religion need to get more serious and only then would the issue be rectified.”

    Ambitious
    • “People need to start talking. When people see something wrong happening they are afraid to air their views. If we don’t talk, how would we get results?”

    Reporter
    • “The issue needs to be everyone’s business. It has nothing to do with politics or religion; it has to do with being safe! It is not good enough to say it is not my child so it’s not my concern or I give up now. We need to do all we can.”

    Parent
    • “Parents need to let their children know who is in charge. Too many parents are ‘covering’ for their children. They see them doing drugs and they say nothing, they see them with weapons and they help them to hide it from the police. It is ridiculous and needs to stop!”

    Party lover
    • “I think the police need to do more.  They need to patrol the streets instead of liming.”
