SKNTTA Easter Table Tennis Camp and National Junior Tournament 2012

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, April 5th, 2012   --  The St. Kitts-Nevis Table Tennis Association (SKNTTA) Easter Table Tennis Camp and National Junior Tournament , offers aspiring Junior players (age 7 to 15 years old) a chance to live, eat and breathe table tennis for a week including 18 hours of tennis for 5 days, fun filled activities, and supervision by certified coaches.
     
    The SKNTTA Grassroots Table Tennis Camp will be conducted at the Conaree Community Centre, Conaree, St Kitts and Nevis. Shuttle arrangements are in place for children commuting from Basseterre. On Saturday 14th April, 2012 participants will compete in our inaugural Under 15 Table Tennis Tourney and eligible for selection to the SKNTTA National Training Centre, under the Talent Identification Project.
     
    Cost: EC$40.00 per child. The fee includes certificate of attendance, participation in National Youth TT Tourney, 15 hours of introductory table tennis coaching instructions under the guidance of an SKNTTA Coaching Staff, ITTF Level 1 Certified.
     
    Duration: 9.30am – 12.30pm, Tuesday 8th April 2012 to Saturday 14th April 2012
     
    Camp Outline:
    • Intro to TT; Grip; Stance; Forehand drive
    • Table tennis equipment; Backhand drive
    • Footwork; Beginning serves
    • Pushing; Advanced serves
    • FH loop vs. backspin; Blocking
    • BH attack (looping & hitting vs. backspin)
    • Smashing; Return of Serve
    • Participation in National Youth Tournament, Saturday 14th April 2012 (1.00pm-4.00pm)
     
     
    The SKNTTA is driven by the mandate to become a vehicle for youth development through sports in the Federation. As such, we accept the task to create roadmaps to steer the youth away from a life of crime, violence and gangs thus enabling them to become well-rounded citizens.
