Exercise care in providing information online
Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 27th, 2012 – The Bankers & Financial Services Association (BFSA) wishes to respond to the increase in number of requests customers receive, to provide confidential account related information online.
The public is advised that in order to avoid unauthorized access to their accounts, they should exercise due care and diligence in providing information on their accounts online.
Customers are asked to be aware of any email requesting confidential information and are advised that they should not click on any links in such emails. The BFSA reminds customers that banks will never request them to provide username, password, answers related to security questions, or other such information online.
Members of the public are asked to advise their bankers, should they receive these online requests.
The Bankers & Financial Services Association was formed in 2001 and comprises the following Financial Institutions: Bank of Nevis Ltd., Bank of Novia Scotia, CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank Ltd., RBTT Bank Caribbean Ltd., Royal Bank of Canada, and the St Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Ltd.
