KINGSTOWN St.Vincent, April 05th, 2012  --  Vincentian nationals have been urged to cooperate with the enumerators to ensure the National Housing and Population Census is carried out successfully.

The Statistical Department will commence the new Census in June of this year.

Chief Statistician Gatlin Roberts said they are putting the necessary plans in place to carry out the exercise again following a Fire at the Financial Complex last October which destroyed the data that was collected during the 2011 Census.

Miss Roberts said it’s very expensive to conduct the census and she is appealing to the public to respond to the questions truthfully when the survey begins.

Miss Roberts also spoke of the importance of the census as a key tool for the nation’s development.
